I'm Back!
If you are reading this then Hello! and thank you for taking the time to do so.
Unfortunately there has been no progress on Mini Snow White as I only have 1 Q Snap frame and it's too small for the project. I just hate scrunching up the fabric and my stitches. So the plan is to buy some extender bars and put a scroll frame on the Christmas wish list .;)
So instead I've been working on Halloween Town by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. I haven't made a lot of progress(thanks to a certain 1.5 year old) but every stitch counts...right?
I've been stitching on 28ct Crystal Cashel linen in 'Eek!' using the recommended Cosmo, The Gentle Art sampler threads and Weeks Dye Works floss. Here is a picture of where I am so far:
Please excuse the horrible photography. It was taken at night with a mobile phone.
The colours are a little washed out.
I love patterns by TFPS. They're all so very cute. I'm also working on the year long 'Once Upon A Time' mystery SAL and last year when I first got back into stitching I started 'The 12 Days of Christmas' but let's just say I wasn't as good at calculating fabric usage back then. Haha.
I've also decided to join in a 'Mega Mini Month Madness' hosted by Pull the Other Thread. It's for the whole month of October and sign up ends on the 28th of September. If you are interested the sign up page is here. The goal is to work on miniature cross stitch projects such as ornaments. I only have 3 small projects in my stash as of now but that's not to say that number won't grow before the start. I also plan on joining the Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015 (DUCJC2015) in honor of the late Debbie of Debbie's Cross Stitch. It's being hosted by Linda of Stitchin with my Furbabies. There is a Facebook group going for those interested. I don't actually own 31 patterns or kits so I will have to do a lot of shopping before January, not that that bothers me.
Hopefully my next post will have lists of projects that I intend to work on during both of these SALs and more progress on Halloween Town.

Oops, another long post. Thank you for reading to the bottom or really reading it at all. If you do stop by please leave a comment to let me know you're there as I reeeally look forward to meeting some other Cross Stitchers! Haha. Well again, thank you and hopefully see you next post!
Nel.
Hello Nel! Love your new blog. I'm joining you in the Mini Ornament Madness Month and also Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge. Like you I will also need to do a bit of stash shopping! I look forward to seeing what you will be stitching on for both of these challenges.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I love all of your projects and can't wait to see what you do in October for the MOMM and also the DUCJC in 2015. I was so excited when you started Treasure Hunt Bookshelf as I had purchased it but not started, it's one of my new starts for next year.
DeleteGreat stitching. Love the fabric. Thanks for joining and promoting Mega Mini Month Madness. I do hope you enjoy it and I can't wait to see how everyone gets on. I too will be joining in DUCJC and am getting my list together at the mo. I easily have 31 projects in my stash :S
ReplyDeleteHaha oh no. I'm a little afraid to start so many so soon as I don't get a lot of time with a 1.5 year old. Haha. But if I make sure they're all ones I like then I'm sure I can finish them....or a couple at least. Haha.
DeleteI can understand you being apprehensive about starting so many especially when you are short on free time. I don't have a lot of it myself so I'm mostly starting small projects for DUCJC with maybe a medium or large one as well.
