Happy Halloween!

Hello again and welcome back on this spooky day. :)
Australia is slowly starting to celebrate Halloween which I think is fantastic. I love the fun of it. So much so that I made some last minute decorations to show people that they could trick or treat at our house.

Nothing fancy just some cut out mask style creatures on kitchen skewers with ribbons. Haha. I placed them around the path to the front door as well as some balloons that I drew faces onto, We didn't have many kids stop by but the few groups that did loved the extra effort.

It's good we didn't have too many visitors because someone found his way into the candy bowl...

Yep, bedtime was a bit of a nightmare after one too many chocolates. Haha. But he did rock his Superman costume.

After he finally fell asleep I got cozy and settled in for my own little Halloween tradition.

I kicked the night off with Haunted Mansion. Yes, I realize it is intended for children but I love it. Haha. I just love the whole haunted house with a back story angle. Stitching is new to this year but I think it will work it's way into my Halloween tradition. I decided to do some work on Halloween Town because...well it's Halloween. ;)

I've been working on part 4 which is the band along the bottom. After part 4 in complete it will go away again for January.

Well this post hasn't been very stitchy related but I thought I'd add some pictures of two of my favourite places.

The first two images are of London Court in the Perth City shopping district. It's ye olde and it's been there longer than I've been around. Haha. It's a great place for a coffee and around Christmas they have snow machines on the tops of the buildings.

The last two are Pioneer Village in Armadale. If you've ever ordered from Colours Down Under then this is where it comes from. haha. It's another ye olde (noticing a theme?) style shopping village.

Now before I leave you to enjoy your festivities I need 3 tributes...I mean volunteers....;) who would like to take part in the Around the World blog hop. I was tagged by Rosey175 over on her blog Ishkabibble and will put my post up on Monday but I need to tag 3 people to pass it on to. I don't really want to just tag people in case they don't want to do it so if you would like to then please leave a comment bellow. You will have to make your post on the 10th of November and hopefully tag 3 more people to pass it along to,

Phwew. That was longer than I expected it to be. Haha. As always, thank you for reading, commenting and following.
Until next time,
Nel.

Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe: Jingle as Ye Enter sampler chart give-away, enter now!

Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe: Jingle as Ye Enter sampler chart give-away, enter now!

Late again!

Some days I feel like the White Rabbit. Haha.
Hello again!
Sorry for missing yesterdays post. I'm in the middle of helping my Grandma move houses so I've been really tired. But enough excuses. I don't have any progress pictures as I've only worked on my MMMM pieces this past week between moving and I would like to save them for the final post next week. So instead I've taken a pictures of my current stash. It's not a lot at the moment but I think it's a lot seeing as I only got back into stitching a year ago. :\ Haha.

First I have this book that my Grandma gave me yesterday. It's an old sampler book that she had in a drawer. There are quite a couple that I would like to do. Here are some photos...

Now, the bulk of my stash are the 31 projects for January. I'll save photos of those until closer to the starting date.

I hope that no one wants to strangle me but I keep my stash in a plastic tub. Haha. It's not a great way to organize it all but at the moment its all that I have so it will have to do. :)

Here are some of the contents you haven't seen...

Just a kit, charts and some of my specialty threads. :) I have left 2 spaces open in my 31 for DUCJC and I think I will do a poll to get you guys to help me choose the last 2.

Well that is all for now. Sorry that this post is late and not really very exciting. Haha. I can tell you that I finished my most recent finish and will show that on Wednesday. Also, sorry for the glare and poor photo quality. Well, thank you for reading commenting and following.
Until next time,
Nel.

MMMM Post 4...

Excuse me...
Yes you.
Could you please tell me where October has gone?
Haha. My goodness, week 4 already?! It's crazy how time flies when you're stitching smalls. ;)

Well, as I promised yesterday, I have a finish! Woo hoo!

'Winter Birdhouses - Keeping Watch' by Mill Hill
18 Count White Aida Stitching Band
2 over 1
Started 1/10/14 Finished 24/10/14
Added: Holly charm at bottom

My snowman is done! :D I cannot tell you how good it felt to put the last bead in. Haha.
Never again shall I get one of these kits. Not unless Mill Hill decide to separate the beads. Besides the bead sorting I loved stitching him up and I think he turned out really well. I'll hopefully have him finished and ready for hanging by next week for the last MMMM post.

A few days ago I started Santa and Rudolph. This is how far I've gotten...

These are so quick to stitch up. I may be a little over ambitious here but I'm hoping to have this and Gingerbread Boy done by next weeks post. :) We'll see how I go,

Thank you so much for checking in and I'll see you tomorrow for a stash-y type post.
Thank you as always for reading, commenting and subscribing!
Until next time,
Nel.

Like so super close that I've decided to move it to tomorrow night. :) I know you'll all understand. I'm not even going to show you a photo. Haha. Magic mirror on the wall, who is the stitchiest one of all?

Not me that's for sure! Haha.
Weeeeeelcome back! It's another glorious Friday evening and so it must be time for an update!
I have not done a lot of stitching between Wednesday and now. No, instead I've been having S.E.X. :D Lots of it! Haha. That sounds so wrong.
But more on that soon.

These last few days I have put down the Mill Hill snowman. I love beading but for such a small project that's a loooot of beads. So instead I went out and got some 17 inch spare bars for my Q snap and picked up my HAED Snow White. Here she is from the last time I worked on her...

And here she is now...

Please excuse the snaps and my PUG-jamas! Get it? ;)
Here is a photo a little bit closer...

And what movie did I have to watch while stitching her?

Oh yes :)
See, not a lot but at least I'm tackling that black hair. Haha.

So, onto the S.E.X ;)
I don't have photos as a lot of it is still on it's way but I promise some haul photos on it's arrival. What I can show you is my first ever Châtelaine!

How exciting! Haha. I chose the Mystery XIV Swan Lake. I have to admit that as much as I love Ballet I have not seen this performed. My main reasons for choosing this one were the colours and the swans. haha. I live in Perth, Western Australia so swans, especially black swans, are kind of a big deal. So much so that we even put them on our flag...

...See. Haha.
I also chose it because it's absolutely gorgeous!
I can also tell you that all of my materials have now been purchased for DUCJC2015, minus the 2 empty spots that I will purchase after Christmas with my Christmas cash. I have also purchased an LED floor lamp with magnifying glass and clip to hold patterns. I am so excited for that to arrive so I'll have some better light during the evenings.

So I think this post has been long enough now. Remember to check in on Sunday to see the winner of the give away! Until then, thank you for reading, commenting and following!

MMMM Post 3...

Hello again! :)

I can't believe we are already half way through October.
So it's time for another MMMM update. Unfortunately I don't have a finish this time but I do have a lot of progress. Here is the before...
And the now...

Not as much progress as I would have liked but all progress is progress! :)
If you would like to see who else is doing the MMMM challenge then head over to
And now for something completely different...
Well, not completely...
I have a bit of stash. I love hand dyed fabrics but I hated waiting for them to ship from the US. So I was so happy to come across Sew it All. It is an Australian company that specialize in Needlework fabrics. As much as I wanted to go crazy and order one of everything, I behaved and ordered 3 pieces of hand dyed evenweave. Here they are...

The colours don't show so well in the photos but Fairy Floss is bright pinks and purples, Dryscape is a beige with a hint of green and Roseglow is a subtle blue/green with some pinky/red shades. I have plans for each of these already ;).

Well that is all for tonight, sorry that this post is a little late.
Until next time, thanks for Reading, Commenting and Following!

Double Digits Give Away!

Woo hoo!
Sorry this post is late, it's been a day and a half! Haha.
So now it is time for a give away! This is a followers only give away as my thanks to you.
I will automatically be entering all of my followers that have subscribed to my blog before today. If you DO NOT want to be entered then please comment below. I will be writing every ones names down and have someone else draw a name from a hat to decide the winner. The drawing will be a week from today so people have plenty of time to let me know if they would not like to be entered.

So, enough of the boring stuff, onto the prize!
Seeing as so many of you liked it I have decided to pass on my copy of 'Joy' by the Sweetheart Tree. (I would like to disclose that I have not made copies of this pattern and that I am giving away the only copy of it).
This is not the prize though. The prize is that I have re-kitted it so that you will have absolutely everything you need to make your own. This includes needles, fabric, floss, beads, batting and trim. Not only that but there will be some surprise goodies in the pack. Here is a photo of the chart and floss...

So, that being said, thank you for following me, commenting and reading. Come back next Sunday to see if you are the winner.
Until next time,
Nel.

A finished finish! :)

Hello again!

I hope you all had a great week full of tiny little crosses. Haha.
I finished my finish a little earlier than expected and I love it! It's now not only my first beaded project but also my first crafty finish. So first we have some progress pictures...

I held my breath while I put the front piece together. My goodness. Haha.
But I worried for nothing because...

Ta-da! Haha. I love it. I do think that the stitching is a little to the left but I hope it's not too noticeable. Here is the back...

And here is an artsy photo because I was trying to capture how sparkly it is. Haha.

Ooh, bring on Christmas so I can display this baby! Haha. So there is my first finished finish for MMMM. I do have some progress on 'Keeping Watch'.

I am really enjoying this. It's not as much progress as I would have liked but that's mainly due to our mid week hospital visit and these...

Yes, I have started putting together my DUCJC2015 projects. I am still waiting on supplies like fabrics and floss etc. but I feel better knowing that I have some ready to go. I'll have better pictures of all of these plus the others and all of their materials closer to January. I did want to show you the colours for Snow White and the Seven Dwarves though...

How fun are they? Haha.

Well that is all for now. I will be back on Sunday with my giveaway post. If you would like to be entered you must be following by Sunday as this is a followers only giveaway as my way to say thank you for taking an interest in my little blog :) Anyway, more details to come on Sunday. For now though, thank you again for reading, commenting and following!
